Checked on two others possible Dinner in Uniform locations:
1. Christine's Creek Side Inn, Green Hills Road behind Gibralter, formerly the Old Mill Inn. They have a corner room that holds 20-30. The owner tells me it is the room is loaded with old pictures of Reading and is more or less a 40's theme. They also have pictures of WWII veterans including the former owner. They do not have a set banquet menu, we can choose from the menu and even choose ahead of time if we like. The meal cost ranges fro $14 to $30 (chicken to seafood) with the average being $20. They will provide free soda and coffee with meals. They have Jan 9th and 16th available. (John we could do a reconnaissance and take the wives and talk to the chef/owner).
2. Emily's, Route 10 near Plowville, Victorian décor, They have a banquet menu (
www.emilysrt10.com) and prices range between $23-$35. They have 3 rooms; 1. up to 15 room on first floor, 2. up to 30 enclosed porch, and 3. up to 45 two adjacent rooms on the second floor (I have been in the second floor rooms for a banquet and they are nice and the food was good). Menu prices are based on 20 or more. They also have hors d'oeuvres that range from $30-$50. Did not get to see what dates they have available, the manager was not there when I called.
We probably should select a date (SOON) and narrow down the choices. Maybe a brief meeting? Need an estimate of number, my guess is we are in the 10 to 20 people range?
